Why does the pro-honor killing event get all the positive press?

Why does the pro-honor killing event get all the positive press?
There is something fundamentally broken in our culture. Imagine a society that extols the supremacist tyranny of the sharia while smearing and defaming human rights activists fighting for freedom and individual rights over gencdercide and gender apartheid.
Look at USA Today's coverage of the Islamic supremacist hate group denouncing our Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference. Did anyone from USA Today even attend our conference or listen to the live stream? The "reporter," Niraj Warikoo, is your typical useful idiot running the press release of a tyrannical enemy seeking to destroy our freedoms, our civilization from within.
Victory: Full House In the Belly of the Beast -- Truth Gets A Hearing In Dearborn
Anyone that opposed our conference supports the killing of women under the sharia. Honor killings should get the kind of attentive press that these jihadists get.
Niraj Warikoo interviewed me and used none of it. Here's the interview:
From: Pamela Geller <[email protected]>
Subject: Re: questions for story
Date: April 26, 2012 11:57:59 PM EDT
To: Niraj Warikoo <[email protected]>
Cc: [email protected]
Niraj Warikoo: Can you talk about what the conference is about, its general message?
Pamela Geller Our goal is to raise awareness about the phenomenon of Islamic honor killing in order to help bring a stop to it. These girls have rights, too, they’re human beings, and yet they’re completely forgotten in our politically correct culture. We’re standing for the human rights of girls like Jessica Mokdad.
Niraj Warikoo: A family member of Jessica Mokdad told Fox News Detroit earlier this year they don’t want Jessica’s name on the conference. They said they’re opposed to the conference. Can you offer any reaction to that?
Pamela Geller: Darwin Jiles, a close friend of Jessica, has said this: “Jessica was someone who wanted to have liberties, like every other young lady that is born in America outside of the traditions of Islam are able to do, to pursue her own happiness and to pursue her own dreams. And I can say for sure, of knowing her, of hearing the issues that she actually faced on both sides of her family, she was very conflicted, and she lived in fear of even her life possibly ending up in this situation that happened, with her being murdered in cold blood…Jessica would wear [the Islamic headcovering, the hijab] it when she was with her family, and when she wasn’t with her family, she let it be very known that she didn’t want to wear it, that she did not want to be a part of this forced Islamic religion. She was very clear with that to me. And so Cassandra really is portraying a false picture. And Pamela has every right to place the conference to be named after Jessica in regards to this, because it was Islam that caused her death.”
Niraj Warikoo:Local Arab-American groups are holding a counter-conference earlier in the day to oppose your conference. Any thoughts on their concerns?
Pamela Geller: These groups should be standing with us in defense of the basic unalienable rights of young Muslim girls and Muslim women in the West. Instead, they are lining up in support of honor killing, gendercide, and the subjugation and oppression of women.
And here is what the lapdog for Islamic supremacists ran:
Arab-Americans hold conference against bigotry USA Today, Niraj Warikoo
DETROIT – Arab-Americans and their supporters held a conference in Detroit on Sunday against bigotry in response to an anti-Islam conference in Dearborn, Mich.
"We stand for America," said Osama Siblani, publisher of the Dearborn-based Arab-American News, at a panel discussion held at a Detroit hotel. "And they (anti-Muslim activists) stand against America and against the American way of life."
Siblani's views were echoed by others who gathered for a conference organized by the Arab American Institute and supported by several other Arab-American groups to counter a conference held in Dearborn on Sunday by anti-Muslim activists called the "Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference on Honor Killings."
Last year, Mokdad, 20, a Muslim was shot dead by her stepfather in Warren, Mich. Some anti-Islam activists said it was a honor killing because initial reports were that she was perceived as too independent, but Macomb County Assistant Prosecutor Bill Cataldo said Friday it was not an honor killing. The family of Mokdad opposed the anti-Islam conference and didn't want Mokdad's name on it, Cataldo said.
On Sunday, Imam Hassan Qazwini of the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn -- the biggest mosque in Michigan -- said : "Honor killing has no religious roots in Islam."
Sunday's anti-Muslim conference features two of the most well-known anti-Islam activists in the United States, Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer.
Geller, who blogs against Islam, said: "Our goal is to raise awareness about the phenomenon of Islamic honor killing in order to help bring a stop to it. These girls have rights, too, they're human beings, and yet they're completely forgotten in our politically correct culture."
Qazwini said he believes Geller is motivated by money. He said she wants to make "Islam look like a monster to raise funds."
The anti-freedom, pro-sharia propaganda goes on. It's cringe worthy -- we expect this from terror TV like Al Jazeera, but USA Today?

Victory: Full House In the Belly of the Beast -- Truth Gets A Hearing In Dearborn
UPDATE: Thanks to Mike Grambush for the pics (below, our amazing security team that ensured the safety of our event. They were spectacular).
When asked who on the panel got death threats -- hands raised (Left to right, Robert Muise, Pamela Geller, Nonie Darwish, Robert Spencer, James Lafferty, Simon Deng, Darwin Jiles)
I am still traveling and so this can't be extensive -- look for my full report on tonight's Jessica Mokdad Conference on Honor Killing in Dearborn, Michigan this week in World Net Daily, but here is the 411. The day started with an anti-truth, pro-honor killing rally under the deceptive guise of "Islamophobia." According to infidel infiltrators, it was nothing but a stealth fundraiser for the stealth jihadis, using our conference as a fundraising tool. The irony is thick here, because their talking point was that we were doing the work and fighting for freedom just to "get rich." Really? I must have missed that course in the University of Monetizing Islamophobia. They cited the bogus propaganda "research" of "Fear, Inc.," fallaciously asserting that I was the recipient of some of the $42 million distributed to several anti-jihad organizations over the last ten years. We barely can rub two nickels together. But truth has no price. It takes guts for the recipients of millions in Saudi petrodollars to make a claim like that.
They went on to exploit the fictitious narrative of the fear and paranoia that counter-jihadists "exploit," without ever addressing honor killings, FGM, or the millions slaughtered in 1,400 years of jihad warfare, cultural annihilation, and enslavement. The irreligious imam who incited his herd to hatred against me during Friday prayers assured that crowd that "Geller and Spencer will fail because they are against God, they are against America, and people will not get with them." Apparently he was also selling pieces of the Brooklyn Bridge.
What is noteworthy is that the mayor, several local politicians, and Congressman Conyers were there. Is it any wonder that they feel empowered? They intend to create a "superfund" to defeat the evil Republicans. The main thrust? The left, the Democrats, and the Islamic supremacists must get together to defeat the forces of good. I will have video of these remarks within the next couple of days. Stay tuned.
But all of this nonsensical rhetoric disappeared into the ether when hundreds converged upon the Hyatt, a full capacity crowd, to join Robert Spencer and me and a full roster of luminaries to educate, elucidate, and shine a light on the ugly and brutal atrocities under the Sharia. I explained the reasons why we came to Dearborn to stand against honor killing, and why all free people need to stand against this atrocity. Then Darwin Jiles, a close friend and confidante of Jessica Mokdad, exposed the mainstream media lie that she was not killed in an honor murder: Darwin spoke movingly of how Jessica confided in him of her fears that she would be harmed for not following the rules of Islam, and how her worst fears came to pass.
Robert Spencer then provided facts about why 91% of all honor killings occur among Muslims: its sanction in Islamic law, the relaxed penalties for honor killings in many Muslim countries, and more. Then followed Nonie Darwish with harrowing firsthand accounts of the mistreatment of women in Muslim societies. David Wood then explained how Sharia is also leading to oppression in the United States, detailing his experiences being bullied, silenced, and unjustly arrested for preaching Christianity to Muslims in Dearborn. Robert Muise, his lawyer, showed riveting film of the case, in which David's colleague Nabil Qureshi was arrested for "breaching the peace" simply for discussing Christianity with Muslims at the Arab American Festival in Dearborn.
Michael Coren then offered accounts of how the same spread of Sharia is happening in Canada, as well as in his native Britain, while the mainstream media remains silent, indifferent, and/or complicit. James Lafferty told tales from the trenches in Northern Virginiastan and offered practical tips for how free people could fight to defend freedom, coinciding with the advice I give in my book Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance. Simon Deng then rounded out the program by elucidating just what Sharia can do to a society, and to a human being -- as he saw, and lived, and suffered through in Sudan.
The crowd was rapt. No one left during the entire three-hour program, and no one's attention was ever diverted. The questions that followed were informed, pointed, and illuminating. The crowd left energized to stand against the barbarity of honor killing, and the infringements upon freedom that Sharia is bringing to our nation. It was, against all odds and fierce opposition, a victory for freedom.
It was a historic, gamechanging moment for those who love freedom and the unalienable rights of every free individual.
La Chaim!

Saturday, April 28, 2012 Islamic Center of America, Dearborn: Pro-Honor Killing Imam Incites Against Pamela Geller at Friday Prayer
Here is a leading Muslim imam denouncing me, libeling me, defaming me because I am fighting for the human rights of Muslim girls. We are turning people away from the Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference and requests are still coming in fast and furious.
Here's a video of the imam of the Islamic Center of America, Dearborn, in his Friday English sermon, in which he warns his congregants of my impending visit. Here's the thing: no rabbi would ever get up in front of a congregation and badmouth someone like this. Ever. It's just completely, wholly different.
At minute 28:23, this "religious figure" wails that a bigot is coming to Dearborn on Sunday. "Bigot" "basher" who claims that I am doing this for money (as if there is a living in this ......) The imam warns of a "big conspiracy" against Muslims.
He goes on to lie about honor killing. This imam should be up there calling for the expunging of Islamic teaching of the sanctioned killing of offspring according to the Islamic "honor code." According to MEQ, 91% of the honor killings worldwide are Islamic.
*Below scan right is from one of the most important English-language sources for the content of Islamic law: Reliance of the Traveller: A Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law. It is certified by Al-Azhar University as a translation that "corresponds to the Arabic original and conforms to the practice and faith of the orthodox Sunni Community..."
In Book O, titled "Justice," in section 1, "Who is Subject to Retaliation for Injurious Crimes," section o1.1 reads, "Retaliation is obligatory ... against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right..."
However, o1.2 clarifies (above) that "The following are not subject to retaliation" and then lists — after the lovely, egalitarian "Muslim for killing a non-Muslim" and "Jewish or Christian subject ... for killing an apostate" — "(4) a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring's offspring."
Jessica Mokdad was a 20-year-old Muslim woman in Warren, Michigan, who was brutally murdered in May 2011. Fox News Detroit reported: “Authorities say a Minnesota man killed his 20-year-old stepdaughter in Michigan because she left home and wasn't following Islam.” Jessica’s stepfather, a devout Muslim, tracked his stepdaughter over four states to murder her for bringing dishonor on her family.
We’ve named the Conference after her as part of our ongoing campaign to raise awareness and bring a stop to the phenomenon of Islamic honor killing. These girls have rights, too, they’re human beings, and yet they’re completely forgotten in our politically correct culture, in which speech that is offensive to Islam is increasingly forbidden. We’re standing for the human rights of girls like Jessica Mokdad.
AFDI tried to place ads on Detroit-area buses offering help to people wishing to leave Islam and threatened by their families. Detroit SMART Transit refused the ads, and we sued on free speech grounds. We won, and the ads were scheduled to run, but Detroit SMART still refused to run them – and the same week they were supposed to run, Jessica Mokdad was murdered. Perhaps if she had seen one of our ads, she would be alive today. This underscores the cowardice of Detroit-area officials and the need for this Conference in Dearborn. We welcome women seeking help and resources to escape dangerous and misogynist households.”

Media Plays up Pro-Honor Killing Demo in response to Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference on Honor Killing
More of the blatant pro-sharia bias in the media. When we called a conference in order to increase awareness of honor killings and gendercide under the sharia, the only attention the media paid was to the complicit family whining that Jessica's name was being used. Such grief -- so touching the way so many Muslims go into "protect Islam" mode and not "protect our girls."
Despite the media bash and the pro-honor killing protests, our conference is overbooked -- we could not accommodate all who wish to attend.
So enraged are some members of the Muslim community over our attempts to protect Muslim girls who wish to live free, they are holding an "islamophobia" town hall. That's right -- against honor killings? Well then, you are a racistislamophobic anti-Muslim bigot.
Of course when the media got wind of a pro-honor killing demo, they were all over it like sharks to chum, i.e. Michigan Radio has this: Dearborn conferences to address honor killings, Islamophobia.
Opposing honor killings is "islamophobia."
Notice how all these articles describe the pro-honor killing demo, but none report on our agenda or contacted me for comment. We chose Dearborn because Jessica lived there and April 29th is the anniversary of her honor killing. More here.
(Check out the comments for this article -- you can fool some of the people....)
Rejecting Islamophobia: Town hall counters 'Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference' in Dearborn MLive
Dearborn, home to one of the nation's largest concentrations of Arab Americans, once again will become a focal point for debate over the practice and persecution of Islam in the west.
Pamela Geller, conservative activist and co-founder of Stop Islamization of America, is scheduled to host the "Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference" from the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn on Sunday at 5 p.m.
The event is named after a 20-year-old woman fatally shot by her stepfather last year in Warren. Initial reports suggested Rahim Alfetlawi shot Mokdad because he believed she had strayed from Islam, but prosecutors have since said that religion did not play a role.
Despite opposition from family members who say Mokdad's murder has nothing to do with Islam, Geller has refused to rename the conference, suggesting an attempt to cover up what she continues to call an "honor killing."
"Unlike those closest to her, we are going to honor Jessica's memory and stand up against the brutal practice that took her life," Geller said in a statement announcing the conference.
Local leaders say the conference is misleading and argue that Dearborn has become a convenient target for anti-Muslim groups, pointing to recent protests led by activist Pastor Terry Jones.
To counter Geller's conference, The Arab American Institute and partners have scheduled a competing town hall on Sunday titled "Rejecting Islamophobia: A Community Stand Against Hate." It is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Dearborn.
"This is clearly not the first time our community in Michigan has had to deal with a hate group," AAI President Jim Zogby said in a statement. "Despite repeated efforts to target Arab Americans and American Muslims, the community has remained resilient and poised, sometimes choosing to ignore the fervor.
"This group we cannot ignore and this is the time to stand up and make our voices loud and clear in opposition to the politics of division and bigotry."
Trying to save the lives of Muslim girls is bigotry. And the media laps it up like so much poison-laced candy.
Anyone who opposes our human rights conference on honor killing supports honor killing, gendercide, and the subjugation and oppression of women. The Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference will be held at the Hyatt Hotel in Dearborn on Sunday the 29th from 5pm to 8pm. After bowing to Islamic supremacist pressure and canceling a speech I was supposed to give at the Hyatt in Texas, the Hyatt reversed its stance, recovered its understanding of the American principle of free speech, apologized and offered AFDI space in a Hyatt for a future Conference to make it up to our human rights organization. I chose the Hyatt in Dearborn to stand in solidarity there with girls who are in danger of being victimized like Jessica Mokdad.

Thursday, April 26, 2012 Local & National Muslim Groups to Demonstrate in Support of Honor killings and opposing our AFDI Human Rights conference for freedom
Local and national Arab American and Muslim groups will gather this Sunday at the Doubletree Hotel just outside of Dearborn to protest our pro-freedom confernce on Human Rights and Honor Killing in Dearborn. This pro-sharia demo is scheduled to take place before our historic event.
The goons, thugs and Muslim supremacists are ginning up the jihad in anticipation of our AFDI/SIOA Jessica Mokdad Human Rights conference on Sunday in Dearborn, the first honor killing conference of its kind. It seems Islamic supremacists support the sharia and the death penatly for "honor." These subversive groups oppose our first-ever human rights conference dedicated to exposing the plight of women under Islamic law on the anniversary of the execution-style honor murder of Jessica Mokdad: The Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference.
These Muslim groups should be standing with us in defense of the basic unalienable rights of young Muslim girls and Muslim women in the West. But they are Islamic supremacists who wish to impose the sharia in America.

Local, National Groups to Host Islamophobia Town Hall Sunday in Dearborn
Dearborn Patch April 25
The event is being planned to counter an anti-Islamic conference being held in Dearborn at the same time.
Local and national Arab American and Muslim groups will gather this Sunday at the Doubletree Hotel just outside of Dearborn in hopes of counteracting an anti-Islamic conference being held at the same time.
In a statement sent out Wednesday, the Arab American Institute announced that they will
host a community town hall on Islamophobia at 1 p.m. on Sunday with a slew of local and national speakers–including religious leaders, media representatives, and political leaders. The event they seek to fight is the Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference, also taking place Sunday at Dearborn's Hyatt Regency Hotel. Hosted by political commentators and outspoken critics of Islam Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, the conference aims to expose what they claim is blatant evidence of the persecution of women in the Muslim faith.
Jessica Mokdad, for whom the conference was named, was murdered in 2011 in Warren, MI. Police arrested her stepfather for the crime, and some–Gellar included–have speculated that the shooting was an "honor killing" due to her rejection of Islam.
Mokdad's family told Fox News Detroit that "absolutely it was not."
Maya Berry, executive director of the Arab American Institute, said in a statement that the community should not stand idly as the conference takes place.
"They are exploiting the tragedy of a young Arab American girl to promote a bigoted agenda," she said. "It is shameful.
"And unlike the irrelevant (Quran-burning Pastor Terry) Jones, Geller and Spencer have thousands of followers, and are given airtime to spew their hate on major American news networks," she added. "This group, we cannot ignore."
The Islamophobia Town Hall will include multiple speakers, including AAI President James Zogby, journalist and blogger Sara Posner, Executive Director of the Council for American-Islamic Relations of Michigan Dawud Walid, American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee of Michigan Director Imad Hamad, Imam Sayed Qazwini, state Rep. Rashida Tlaib and several others.
The town hall is free to attend and open to the public.

Monday, April 23, 2012 Security Alert: Anti-freedom, pro-sharia 'event' to incite prior to AFDI/SIOA Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference
We need your help. Now. Security is our number one expense -- just look at the madness surrounding our appearance at Temple University tonight. And now this. Obviously they mean to gin up the hate in Dearborn.
DEARBORN – In order to counter-act the “Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference” in Dearborn that many say is being used as a platform for anti-Muslim bigotry by conservative commentator Pamela Geller and others, an event titled “Rejecting Islamophobia: A Community Stand Against Hate” will be held on Sunday, April 29th from 1 p.m. To 3:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Dearborn
The purpose of the event is to bring out a large group of people in support of religious freedom and tolerance in order to bring media attention to the true peaceful nature of Islam as opposed to an unbalanced view used for a political purpose of hate and division, according to organizers.
Anti-freedom Leftists and Islamic supremacists are enraged that we are standing against honor killing in Dearborn, and they're determined to stop us. We have reports of a taqiyya conference, and of a counter-demonstration intended to menace the freedom fighters who are going to speak at our event. It would be nice if we could be assured that this counter-demo would be peaceful, but remember, this is Sharia Dearborn, where freedom fighters have been physically attacked, and where Christians have been arrested for preaching to Muslims, which is a crime only in Sharia.
We are taking every precaution for the safety of those attending, and to make sure our voices are heard, but it is not cheap. We have had to triple our security personnel and spend far more than we had expected to in order to make sure this event goes on as planned in the face of Leftist and Islamic supremacist thuggery and intimidation. Because of the same thuggery and war against the truth and free speech, we had to get extra security for our event at Temple University as well.
The costs continue to mount. We do so much with so little. We are not backed by wealthy foundations or philanthropists, and do not have a massive donor base. We depend on you: on individuals who value the freedom of the individual and the dignity of the human person. Without your support, we would not have been able to accomplish anything. Will you help us stand against honor killing in Dearborn? Will you help us stand for the truth? Please donate via Paypal to [email protected] or tax-deductible to [email protected]. Your contribution will help us defray the expenses of the Jessica Mokdad Honor Killing Conference and all our work for freedom. And for that, may G-d bless you.

Sunday, April 15, 2012 Last Week! Register for Jessica Mokdad Honor Killing Conference in Dearborn
On April 29th in Dearborn, Michigan, history will be made. The Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference on Honor Killings will be held at the Hyatt Hotel in Dearborn. Hosting the Conference and also speaking are AFDI/SIOA executive director Pamela Geller, publisher of the acclaimed AtlasShrugs.com blog, executive director of AFDI and SIOA, and author of Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance, and AFDI/SIOA associate director Robert Spencer, the bestselling author and director of Jihad Watch.
Dearborn law enforcement is on the receiving end of a lawsuit alleging a cover up of honor killings. The lawsuit challenges the official cooperation by the city of Dearborn, Mich., which has one of the largest populations of Muslims in the U.S., with Islamic interests: that under the recognized "Shariah" law in the city, there have been "honor killing" murders that have been "covered up."
The misinformation and lack of knowledge of sharia law and honor violence is part of the problem. Law enforcement should be pursuing not just the murderers but the accomplices, as often the entire family is involved. According to Laura Reckart, lead prosecutor in Arizona v. Almaleki, the Noor Almaleki murder trial was the first case in the U.S. where "honor killing" was successfully used to obtain a conviction of a father who murdered his daughter. but prosecutors were disappointed in the conviction of the lesser charge of second-degree murder. The prosecution believed Almaleki should have been convicted of first-degree murder. They had clearly proved premeditation.
We will address honor violence from the legal perspective, sharia law and American courts.
Jessica Mokdad was a 20-year-old Muslim woman in Warren, Michigan, who was brutally murdered in May 2011. Fox News Detroit reported: "Authorities say a Minnesota man killed his 20-year-old stepdaughter in Michigan because she left home and wasn't following Islam." Jessica's stepfather, a devout Muslim, tracked his stepdaughter over four states to murder her for bringing dishonor on her family.
Darwin Jiles, Jessica's close friend, said Jessica lived in abject terror. She feared she would be honor killed by her stepfather. She suffered in her father's household as well, pressured to subjugate herself and live under Islamic law.
Jessica did not want wear the hijab and "did not want to be of the Islamic religion."

Darwin Jiles was a close friend of Jessica Mokdad who offers firsthand testimony to the fact that Jessica was a victim of Islamic honor killing.
Pamela Geller said in a statement: "Despite pressure from the media and members of Jessica's family who want to cover up the honor killing aspect of her murder, we are not going to change the name of the conference. Unlike those closest to her, we are going to honor Jessica's memory and stand up against the brutal practice that took her life." Several Mokdad family members have alleged that Jessica's murder was not an honor killing, despite the overwhelming evidence that it was. However, multiple news reports on the murder were quite clear that her stepfather killed Jessica because she "wasn't following Islam" (report from TwinCities.com) and was "not adhering to Muslim customs" (Star Tribune).
Arab American News reported that the last recorded dispute between Jessica Mokdad and her stepfather was over the wearing of the hijab (head scarf), which he originally forced her to wear (just as in the honor murder of Canadian teen Aqsa Parvez). Jessica didn't want to wear it, thereby bringing shame on him and the family. Her stepfather, Rahim Alfetlawi, who murdered her, was pathologically controlling, after the pattern of honor killers. At one point she called her father and told him: "Dad, I can't live here anymore, he's too strict, I can't even go to the store to buy a pop if I want."
Macomb County Assistant Prosecutor Bill Contaldo said: "He thought she was becoming too Westernized. I think this was a very nice young lady wanting to experiment with Western culture without control and without abuse." The Detroit Free Press reported: "Mokdad's mother told police that Alfetlawi felt so shamed by her daughter's Western ways, he killed her in an honor killing," Warren Police Sgt. Stephen Mills said. Alfetlawi was so concerned about her behavior that he even forced her to go to a mosque and marry her boyfriend.
The Daily Mail reported this from London: "Devout Muslim stalks his step-daughter over four states 'before killing her for being too Western." The Daily Tribune reported: Stepfather charged with murder in Warren, upset victim didn't adhere to Muslim customs.
And Alexis Wiley of Fox Detroit reported, "He forced her to wear a traditional head scarf instead of allowing her to make that decision on her own, and when she stopped wearing a scarf, friends say he became furious."
Geller said in a statement: "We've named the Conference after her as part of our ongoing campaign to raise awareness and bring a stop to the phenomenon of Islamic honor killing. These girls have rights, too, they're human beings, and yet they're completely forgotten in our politically correct culture, in which speech that is offensive to Islam is increasingly forbidden. We're standing for the human rights of girls like Jessica Mokdad."

Sunday, March 18, 2012 VIDEO: Honor Killing Special, "Jessica Mokdad Desperate to Leave Islam, Feared She Would be Honor Killed"
ABN did an excellent special on honor killings in Islam. This two-hour special is worth a watch. I appear at minute 1:04 discussing our Jessica Mokdad honor killing conference in Dearborn on April 29th.
More importantly, if you do not have the time to view the whole thing, make sure you listen to the last guest, Jessica's dear friend Darwin Jiles. Jiles describes the abject terror that Jessica lived under. She feared she would be honor killed by her stepfather and suffered in other households besides her father's and her stepfather's becuase she wanted to live a free westernized life.
Jiles exposes Jessica's "stepmother" (though they were the same age) and her claim that Jessica was not honor killed. Jessica disliked Cassandra Mokdad, a devout muslim convert, and had little to nothing to do with her. That Cassandra is exploiting Jessica's death and making up stories is beyond grotesque, though not surprising, considering the Jew-hatred and racism she has displayed on her facebook page.
Jessica did not want wear the hijab and "did not want to be of the Islamic religion." Jessica felt Cassandra was very jealous of her. And looking at Cassandra, it's not difficult to see why. It is disgusting that somone whom Jessica despised is administrating the Jessica Mokdad facebook pages and deleting comments by friends of Jessica that expose Cassandra Mokdad for what she is, a liar and an exploiter.
The great pity is that news reporters like Alexis Wiley at FOX took Cassandra Mokdad's lies and presented them to an unsuspecting public without vetting them. Reporters should seek the truth. Wiley should have spoken to other people in Jessica's life who were there and knew what Jessica was going through. Darwin Jiles describes Cassandra Mokdad as a co-conspirator in the unhappiness and subjugation of Jessica Mokdad.
When Jessica Mokdad was found murdered, execution style, by her stepfather, law enforcement described it as an honor killing. A year later, they backed away from the "label," fearing Muslim reprisals similar to fears in Tampa when the medical examiner and law enforcement described the honor murder of Fatima Abdulah as a suicide.
This. must stop. This is why we are holding the Jessica Mokdad Human Rights conference on Honor Killing.
Here is Darwin Jiles transcribed:
Jiles: I’d just like to say first and foremost, David, I’d just like to say thank you, Pamela, for being able to host this conference in honor of Jessica, from someone who actually knew her, who actually she confided in and who heard her cry, who actually witnessed the actual fear that she lived in. I just want to say thank you for that….
Jessica was a very beautiful person inside and out. She was definitely someone who really wanted to basically discover God for herself. She was someone who wanted to have liberties, like every other young lady that is born in America outside of the traditions of Islam are able to do, to pursue her own happiness and to pursue her own dreams. And I can say for sure, of knowing her, of hearing the issues that she actually faced on both sides of her family, she was very conflicted, and she lived in fear of even her life possibly ending up in this situation that happened, with her being murdered in cold blood….
She had disputes on both sides. And the very most disturbing thing that I’ve witnessed is the stepmother Cassandra pretty much parading everything as if, like, she was just her daughter, like they had this good relationship, this wasn’t an Islamic thing, when I witnessed Cassandra personally being wrapped up in her head covering as well whenever she would be out in public, and Jessica would wear it when she was with her family, and when she wasn’t with her family, she let it be very known that she didn’t want to wear it, that she did not want to be a part of this forced Islamic religion. She was very clear with that to me. And so Cassandra really is portraying a false picture. And Pamela has every right to place the conference to be named after Jessica in regards to this, because it was Islam that caused her death.
She was considered a rebel, from her mom’s – both sides of her family. From her mom and stepdad to her biological father and also the stepmother. The stepmother, Cassandra, is only a few years older than Jessica, so there was a very much conflict between the two. A lot of competition. Jessica felt she was jealous of her. She felt as if she could not be her mother. Because she was a peer of hers. And so when you have that type of turmoil on both sides, she was trapped. She didn’t have anyone, and this is where I came into play, of meeting her, and I’ve known her for close to two years now, of being in her life, when she lived in Grand Blanc, when she left for Milwaukee, and even when she came back.
Q: So you knew her – so originally she lived in Michigan, then she moved away, and then she came back. Do you have any idea why she moved away in the first place?
Jiles: From what she expressed to me, was that there was conflicts at home with her stepmother and her biological father. She was actually starting to date a Caucasian male, and it was some issues revolving around that, and there was problems at home. There was serious problems, and she felt the need, I guess, to express these things to me, this is not made up, this is not something that I’m just creating. From the time I met her, this was probably ninety percent of what she talked about to me. And being a person who more so felt her bondage, I listened.

Friday, March 16, 2012 ABN TV Special: Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference on Honor Killing
If you are around tonight (11:30 Eastern time), I will be appearing on a TV special on ABN focusing on honor killings in Islam and our Jessica Mokdad Human Rights Conference on Honor Killing in Dearborn on April 29th. David Wood, who is hosting the show, will be speaking at our conference. Appearing with me on the show, among others, is a close friend of Jessica Mokdad who will recount Jessica's fears about being honor killed. She lived in abject terror.
Tune in here.
The Muslim community, if it were honest about this phenomenon, would institute classes teaching Muslims against the attitudes and assumptions that lead to honor killing, instead of denying that it has anything dowith Islam, when it obviously does.
Mohammad Shafia made it clear that he did it because he thought his daughters were violating Islamic norms: “May the devil s–t on their graves. Is that what a daughter should be? Would a daughter be such a whore?” He also said: “God’s curse on them for generations. … They betrayed Islam.”
In Islamic law the emphasis is not so much on the crime of rape but on the shame that the woman has brought upon her family by her sexual immorality, even if it was forced. So that shame can be washed away by her marrying the rapist.
Islam's emphasis is wholly and completely upon women as having the responsibility not to tempt men. If they do, and the man rapes, it's the woman's fault. So Islamic honor killing is of a piece with the wearing of hijabs, burqas, etc.

Thursday, February 09, 2012 VIDEO: Pamela Geller on SUN TV Discussing Islamic Honor Killings on
The Michael Coren Show
Popular talk show host and bestselling author Michael Coren had me on his television show today. Michael Coren will be speaking at our first-ever human rights conference dedicated to exposing the plight of women under Islamic law in Dearborn, Michigan on the anniversary of the honor murder of Jessica Mokdad. This monstrous practice is on the rise in the West, and it is incumbent upon all freedom-loving people to expose this ideology that sanctions the murder of girls. 91% of honor killings worldwide occur among Muslims. 96% in Europe.
The fatwa against honor killing does not address the fact that there is no penalty for a parent who kills a child in Islamic law. The fatwa against honor killing does not address the fact that many moderate Muslim states, including Jordan and Syria, have relaxed penalties of honor killing, and Islamic clerics have resisted attempts to stiffen those penalties.
